Description
Begin this educational and interactive class in the barn classroom at Dolly Mama’s Farmstead Creamery. You’ll learn the basic art and science of how milk becomes cheese and then see how easy it is to make Chevre – the classic soft cheese that most people think of when they say “Goat Cheese!” Taste some delicious samples and then make you own custom-flavored log of Chevre to enjoy while you’re here or take home with you.
After we’re done with the cheesemaking part of your experience, it’s time to play with the baby goats and visit with the wonderful mamas who provide this amazing milk. You’ll get a tour of the Dolly Mama Farmstead and see Boulder County’s newest professional cheesemaking facility (note: the creamery itself is on the second floor of the barn and the goats are up a slight hill, so this part of the tour is not wheelchair accessible). You’ll also learn about how the whole operation is a regenerative farm which means that all the parts are working together to minimize waste and maximize the health of the land.
As a special bonus, once class is over, you’ll also receive a link to a recording of our On Demand class on CHEVRE & FROMAGE BLANC. This will serve as a nice review and an introduction to our online classes!
