Join us at Briar Gate Farm where you’ll get to meet and interact with our friendly herd of Nubian, Nigerian Dwarf and Oberhasli dairy goats and then learn to make several kinds of cheeses in our farmhouse kitchen!
The day will begin with milking a few of the does and bottle feeding some of the babies. We’ll talk about the differences between these three breeds including size, temperament and milk production/quality, plus learn a little about what is involved in their care and breeding.
Then we’ll move into our farmhouse kitchen to have some hands-on fun learning how to process the fresh milk and turn it into some delicious cheeses including Chèvre, Ricotta and Capricorn Blue. We’ll end the class with a light lunch, featuring our freshly made cheeses and a glass of wine!
Space is limited to 6 lucky people!
