Homesteading Workshops & Cheesemaking Event!

Join Countryside Network and The Art of Cheese for one or both days of this educational Homesteading & Cheesemaking Event!

Day One: Back-to-Basics Homesteading Workshops (Boulder County Fairgrounds, Longmont, CO:  8:00 am – 5:00 pm)

Six Workshops Offered:

  • Cheesemaking
  • Beekeeping
  • Winemaking
  • Backyard Poultry
  • Raising Dairy Goats
  • Food Preservation and the Cottage Food Business

Detailed Information and Registration  for Day One

 

Day Two:  Creamery Tours, Cheesemaking School Open House & Amateur Cheesemaking Contest  (The Art of Cheese at Haystack, 505 Weaver Park Rd. Unit E, Longmont, CO:  10:00 am – 2:00 pm)

Join us at The Cheese Education Center at the Haystack Mountain Creamery for a fun, tasty and educational day.   You’ll get to see where Haystack’s award-winning artisan cheeses are made and find our about how they got their start. You’ll also get to learn a little about how to make own cheese from The Art of Cheese, a cheesemaking school located within the creamery.

  • Creamery Tours every hour on the half hour (10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 1:30)
  • Cheesemaking 101 Demonstrations on the hour (11:00, 12:00 and 1:00)
  • Cheese Sampling (Haystack’s cheeses as well as homemade)

PLUS, we’ll be hosting our second annual Amateur Cheesemaking Contest, to be judged by Haystack’s very own Katie McMurray, an ACS certified cheese professional!

  • If you know how to make cheese, enter our contest for fun prizes and recognition
  • If you’re curious about homemade cheeses, just come and check out the amazing cheeses that you can learn to make right in your own kitchen.

Drop in any time between 10:00 and 2:00 but registration is required.

$10.00 per person (kids 8 and under free with paying adult) – price includes creamery tour, open house, cheesemaking demonstrations, cheese sampling and participation in our amateur cheesemaking contest (if desired)!
