This class will be taught offsite at an awesome venue – Powder Keg Brewing Company in Niwot!
Although some say that soft cheeses are easy and hard cheeses are hard, in this class we will learn that that’s not necessarily so! We will start by making a delicious Italian hard cheese that uses simple ingredients and minimal equipment and only needs to age for 3 weeks! You’ll get to take a turn cutting and stirring the curd, scooping the curds into the mold and learning how to press the curds. Then we’ll taste several varieties of this versatile cheese, including a goat’s milk version, a grocery-store cow’s milk version and a “flavored” variety. Plus you will learn how to age cheeses, wax a cheese wheel and find out how to make a cheese press for free!
The registration price includes the instruction, cheese tastings/samples, recipe booklet and your choice of one locally crafted beer, cider or house wine (and of course, you can always purchase a second glass)!
