Feta & Queso Fresco – CHEESE FOR CHARITY CLASS – 6:30 pm
January 7, 2016 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm$39.00
Learn how to make a delicious and easy version of the Greek classic, Feta. We will cover a “dry-salted” recipe that won a Reserve Champion ribbon at the Boulder County Fair in 2013, and Marinated-Herbed version that won a Grand Champion ribbon in 2014! We will sample varieties made from both farm fresh goat’s milk and store-bought cow’s milk. Queso Fresco is a quick and easy Latin American farm cheese. It is is a fresh, bright, milky, and mild sliceable cheese that takes minimal time and equipment to make. We will make and taste several versions of Queso Fresco including a delicious herb-infused variety.
This class is designated as our monthly CHEESE FOR CHARITY CLASS!
Half of all registration fees collected for the class will be donated to a worthy charity. Students who come to this class will get to nominate their favorite charity, tell the class about it (while we’re stirring curds!), and then the class will vote for the charity they feel deserves the contribution the most. The Art of Cheese will then write a check to that charity and students can pitch in a little extra if they’d like.
