Join us for our second installment of this popular educational and tasty happy hour at Longmont’s new St. Vrain Cidery! You’ll get to enjoy some delicious cheese and hard-cider pairings while watching homemade cheese being made by Kate Johnson of The Art of Cheese. During this interactive demonstration class, you’ll learn the basic art and science behind the cheesemaking process, equipment and key ingredients needed and how to source the best milk for making cheese at home.
We’ll make and sample a simple yet delicious handmade ricotta while also tasting several delicious Haystack Mountain cheeses perfectly paired with St. Vrain Cidery’s hard-ciders. This month’s featured cheeses will be Applewood Smoked Chevre, Haystack’s Camembert, and their award-winning Queso De Mano, a raw goat milk hard cheese.
You’ll leave with some great recipes and the know-how to make a few easy cheeses yourself. We’ll also have Haystack cheeses available to purchase at a discounted price, as well as special pricing on Gift Cards for cheesemaking classes (a great last-minute Christmas gift idea!).
